Chapter Fifty: Final
*Gui Gui’s POV*
“I miss you.” I just started crying after hearing saying that. He turned me around to face him.
“Don’t cry. You will smear all of your make-up, silly.” He gently wiped off my tears. I started hitting him on his chest.
“You are evil. Evil Evil. How could you stop contacting me and disappear but appear in front of me suddenly?!!” He hugged onto me tightly.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I got so tight up with the work. I’m so sorry, Gui.” I stopped and started crying in his arms.
“I miss you so much. You scare me when you ran away.” I didn’t reply him but just hugging him even tighter.
~Flashback~
*Aaron’s POV*
After 3 years, I haven’t see Gui for 3 years already. I just miss her. Once I got down from the plane, I called Calvin. I told him that I’m back but I asked him to keep a secret from Gui because I wanted to give her a surprise.
We have been in contact for 1 year but later on, work just get too busy and I didn’t have the time to contact her. I wondered how she is now. I heard from Calvin that Gui and Hebe opened a florist shop. I wanted to go and take a look. I went to check into a hotel before visiting the shop.
The moment I reach the florist shop, I saw Gui Gui driving a van out so I decided to follow her. She looks so cute when she gets serious in work. I’m the one who asked the little boy to send the bracelet back to her. She dropped the bracelet when delivering the goods. She got all so worried when she found out that her bracelet is missing.
Then, I followed them to the bridal shop. I feel so hurt when she started crying. Just bear with me for a moment, Gui. I will return to your side. I will. I promise. I stood across the streets, directly facing the shop. She looked so pretty in the gown. I smiled.
During the wedding time..
“Congrats, buddy.” I patted on Calvin’ back.
“You really do not want to go and meet her?” Calvin asked.
“Not now. I will meet her when Hebe throws her bouquet of flowers. Gui got to catch it ok!”
“Ok Ok. I will ask Hebe to throw to her but it also must depend on fate. Do you know there are a lot of girls out there wanted the flowers too?!” And Calvin started laughing.
Fate. Fate made me meet her. Fate allowed me to protect her and Fate bring us together. I know. This time round, Fate wouldn’t disappoint me.
“Let’s go out and throw the bouquet of flowers now!!” Hebe pushed her out. “Gui, you must go and catch it too!!”
“Ready? 1, 2, 3!!” I smiled widely when Gui caught the flowers.
“Aaron?? When did you..”
Everything was under control but I didn’t know that Gui would run away from me again. Guess that is what she always does. That silly girl. I chased after her to the beach.
I hugged her from behind, “Gui, stop running away from me.”
“I miss you.” She is crying again.
“Don’t cry. You will smear all of your make-up, silly.”
“You are evil. Evil Evil. How could you stop contacting me and disappear but appear in front of me suddenly?!!”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I got so tight up with the work. I’m so sorry, Gui.” I hugged her tightly.
“I miss you so much. You scare me when you ran away.”
“Will you leave me again?” Gui asked me.
“Yes.” She looked at me. She let go off me and took a few steps back. I held her back.
“But this time, I will take you with me.” I smiled at her. Her smile grew wider and threw her arms around my neck.
“I love you.” I smiled.
“I love you too.” I hug her tightly and kiss her passionately.

#49 Double Happiness
Chapter Forty Nine: Double Happiness
~The day of Marriage~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
Hebe and I are in the waiting room of the church.
“Gui, I’m so nervous.” I smiled at her.
“Silly, breathe in and out. Relax.” Just then, Hebe’s parents came into the room.
“Hebe, It’s good to see you getting marry. Mum feel relieve now.”
“Mum..” Hebe hugged her mum.
“My daughter is so pretty today.”
“Dad..” Hebe hit his dad’s arm. Suddenly, Hebe’s mum started sobbing.
“Mum, why are you crying??”
“Mum is just happy.”
“Silly you. Today is our daughter’s marriage and you are crying.” Hebe’s dad went over to Hebe’s mum and put his arm over Hebe’s mum’s shoulder.
“It’s time for the bride to go out.” A woman came into the room.
“Ok. Let’s get ready.” Hebe hooked her hands onto her dad’s arm.
The wedding bell rang. I walked on the red carpet first, leading into the church and followed by Hebe with her dad. Calvin’s face is filled of happiness. I’m so happy for the both of them. Both of them took the pledge.
“I do.”
“Both of you may exchange the rings now.” So sweet of them.
“You may kiss the bride now.” Calvin slowly bends down and kissed Hebe on her lips. Everyone in the church cheer for the both of them.
“Let’s go out and throw the bouquet of flowers now!!” Hebe came over and grabbed on to my hand.
“Gui, you must go and catch it too!!” What’s wrong with the both of them? I didn’t have the intention to catch the flowers. I stood there silently. Every girl is like standing in front of me, aiming to get the flowers.
“Ready? 1, 2, 3!!” Hebe threw the flowers high up in to the sky and in came flying down. Then, I fall into my hands. Eh??!! Hebe smiled widely.
“Congrats, Gui.” Hebe said.
“I.. I..”
“Gui, we have a present to give it to you.” Calvin said.
“Shouldn’t I be the one giving presents to the both of you??” Calvin pointed behind. I turned around. Everyone who is crowding behind separated into 2, which leave an empty space in between. I slowly looked up. He looks familiar. Eh??!!
“Aaron?? When did you..”
“I’m back.” He smiled. He slowly walked to me.
“You looked pretty today.” Is really him?? Is it really him?? I’m not dreaming right???
“Gui, are you ok??” Hebe came up to me.
Without saying anything, I throw the bouquet of flowers to him and ran away.
“Gui??!!” Everyone shouted.
“Why are you still standing here?? Chase after her!!” Calvin started pushing Aaron. Aaron passes the flowers back to Hebe and chased after me.
I do not know why but I.. I just kept on running till I reach the beach. He caught up with me and hugged me tightly from behind.
“Gui, stop running away from me.” I have always been running away. I do not know how many times he has told me to stop running away from him.

Chapter Forty Eight: Lost and Found
*Gui Gui’s POV*
I went to the shop. I couldn’t find the bracelet. How can I even lose it? I became so gloomy throughout the day.
“Gui, cheer up. Maybe you put it at home??” I didn’t reply her. I know that I didn’t place it at home. I have always being wearing it. I put my head on the counter. How can I lose it??!!! Just then, a little boy came into the shop. I looked up.
“Hello, little boy. May I help you?” Hebe asked him. He didn’t say anything. He just lifted his hand and put something on the counter. Eh??!! My bracelet. How did he..
Before I could even ask him, he ran out of the shop. I chased after him. The moment I step out of the shop, I couldn’t even find him. Does he need to run so fast?? I looked at the bracelet. How did he find it??
“Although it’s kind of weird, but it’s good that you got your bracelet back.” Hebe came up to me.
“HEY HEY!!! Why the both of you are standing at the door?? Welcoming me?? How did you know I’m coming??” Calvin appears in front of the shop and Hebe ran up to him. Both of them gave each other a kiss.
“C’mon. Don’t do this in front of the shop.” I walked back in. Both of them follow me in. “By any chance, is it you who found the bracelet??” Hebe asked Calvin. I looked at him.
“What bracelet??” Ok. It’s not him. I walked to the room in the shop and started doing the bouquet of flowers. Who is it??
“Gui, stop doing already. We need to close the shop already.” Hebe walked in.
“Why?”
“Don’t you remember? You are supposed to follow the both of us to try out our wedding gown.” Oh ya. I almost forget. I’m the bride maid of Hebe and Aaron is supposed to be the bride groom but he said that he won’t be able to come back to attend their wedding. Aaron. He hadn’t contact me for 2 years already. I didn’t know the reason.
“Ok. Let’s go.” I keep the flowers properly and pack the tables. I took my bag and followed them to the shop.
~At the bridal shop~
“Gui, is this nice?? Beautiful?” Hebe stands in front of me. She looks beautiful. Guess people always say woman looks the best in wedding gowns is true. Just then, Calvin walked into the room. He stared at Hebe. His mouth opens till mosquitoes are able to fly in. He went to hugged Hebe tightly.
“You look so gorgeous Hebe.” Both of them faced each other. “You look handsome too, Calvin.” Both of them smiled sweetly. I just envy the both of them. I guess Hebe spotted me after a while. She came walking to me.
“Gui, he will come back for you. He will.” Hebe held tightly onto my hand.
“But he hasn’t been contacting me. I guess he has all forgotten about me and I’m still waiting for him. How silly I am.” I’m on the verge on crying again. I should be happy for the both of them and shouldn’t cry at this time. Hebe hugged me.
“He wouldn’t forget about you. He wouldn’t.” She patted me on my back.
“Gui, he will come back for you. If he didn’t do that, I will kick his butt for you. Don’t worry.” Calvin assured me. His way of talking just make me wanted to laugh. Both of them smiled.
“Ok. It’s time for you to try on your gown.” Hebe pushed me into the changing room. I started changing and came out after 5 minutes. It’s so tight. I almost cannot breathe.
“Is it alright??” I asked the both of them. Hebe came up to me. “You look great.”
“Sure?” Both of them nodded.
Do you know? He is standing there all along, looking at me. He smiled. But I didn’t notice him.

Chapter Forty Seven: 3 years of departure
~The day that Aaron is leaving~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
I’m still stuck in the restaurant. I wanted to go to the airport. Aaron is leaving today but my manager wouldn’t let me off.
“Gui, I will take care of here. Go and bring the customers in.”
“But manager, I need to..” Before I could even finish my sentence, he walked away. Why did the restaurant get so busy out of the sudden? I quickly finish the work and went to my manager.
“Manager, I really need to go now. Can I..” He nodded before I finish my sentence. My smile widens. I quickly change back into my clothing and rush off to the airport.
~At the airport~
Where is Aaron? I started searching high and low for him. Where is he? Don’t tell me he left already?? What time is it now?? 12PM. What time he leaving?? He didn’t tell me that. I continue searching for him. I looked all over the airport. Where is he? I stood outside the departure hall. I feel like I’m going to cry anytime.
“Don’t cry. It makes me wouldn’t bear to leave you like this.” Someone hugged me from behind.
“Aaron.. I..”
“Let me hug you for a while. I would miss this feeling.” I couldn’t control my tears anymore. I just hope that time would stop at this moment. He turned me around to face him.
“Don’t cry ok?” He wiped off my tears. I hugged him tightly. Does he really have to go?? At this moment, I regretted letting him go but I couldn’t bring myself to ask him to stay.
“For passenger taking K-11 to England, please proceed…” I looked at Aaron. I held on his hand tightly.
“I have to go now.” I shook my head. He hugged me the very last time before he goes in to the hall. I didn’t want to let go of his hand.
“Gui, take care of yourself.” Aaron’s dad patted me on my head. Aaron’s mum hugged me. “Take care Gui. I’m sorry.” I cried out again.
The 3 of them headed to the hall. Aaron took a last glance of me and continues walking. Tears just flow down freely. I wouldn’t want to see his back view. I turned around and started walking out of the airport. Just then, someone run up to me and hugged me tightly from the back.
“I will miss you.” Aaron..
“Aaron, I will miss you too. Take care of yourself.” I didn’t want to turn to look at him. I’m afraid that once I looked at him, I wouldn’t want to let him go.
“Aaron, turn around.” Both of us back face each other.
“Now, start walking and don’t turn back.”
“Gui..”
I smiled. I must be brave. “Let’s go.” I started walking away from him – further and further away.
~3 years later~
I have graduate from my school. And I’m now the boss of a florist shop. Actually, the funds are given by Calvin to Hebe and I. Both of us open this florist shop. Calvin is our shareholder. Haha. The business of the shop is stable. Oh yea. And recently, Calvin and Hebe are planning to get married.
“Gui, you will be responsible to do the flowers for my wedding.”
“Yes, my dear Hebe.” I started packing the bouquet of flowers. “Look after the shop. I’m going out to send all these bouquet of flowers.” I walked out of the shop and headed to my van. The van is also sponsor by Calvin. It is our shop’s van, for delivering purposes.
After delivering, I went back to the shop.
“Gui..”
“Ya??”
“Where is your bracelet??” I looked at my wrist. My eyes widen. I started searching for the bracelet but I couldn’t find it. Don’t tell me I drop it while delivering??!! I went back to the van to find but it isn’t on the van either. I drive back to all the places that I went just now. I started looking around.
Never had she known, the bracelet was being picked by someone and he is now looking at her.

#46 Last Date
Chapter Forty Six: Last Date
*Gui Gui’s POV*
Aaron drove to some grass area?? Eh? No one at sight. Are we going to have picnic here? I don’t remember preparing any food. I nudged him.
“Where is this place?? It looks so remote.” He just smiled and parked his car along the small road. Both of us came out from the car and headed to our right. I followed behind him. We walked and walked before coming to an area of ground. I looked up. Helicopter? Where are we going?
“Gui, Let’s go.” We headed to the helicopter. Within 5 minutes, we are “flying”. This is the first time I’m sitting in a helicopter. At first I didn’t dare to look down but Aaron encouraged me to.
“Gui, its’ save. I’m here too. Look down. It’s pretty.” Slowly, I took a peek down. I got much relax after seeing the scenery. It is so beautiful. Calm blue oceans, green forests, and graceful birds. I smiled.
“It’s beautiful right?” I nodded at him. After 20 minutes of “flying”, we landed on this unknown island. This beach is so white and clean.
“Where is this place??”
“Just follow me.” He smiled. I followed behind him. Just less than 10 minutes, we reached the chalet. I can’t believe my eyes. Rows of chalet, beautiful beach, outdoor restaurant and varieties of facilities – SPA, hot spring, gym, swimming pool.
“Gui, we’ll live here today.” He showed me to my room and left. I stand at the balcony, facing the sea. Take in a deep breath. The air here is so fresh.
Aaron. I guess the world really pity on me. Such a girl like me would actually meet such a great guy in life. Once, I didn’t dare to hold on to him. Now, I wanted to cherish him so much. I wouldn’t bear to let him go but I know and understand what would be the best for him. Few days later, he will be leaving Taiwan already. Today would be our last date. I want to stay by his side all day. I turned to look around my room. He really left. Where did he gone to?? I walked out of my room and started looking for him.
He’s not in his room. I walked to the beach but he’s not there. However, at the beach, I saw a table full of food. I’m so hungry. It is my imagination?? I walk closer to take a look.
“Guess you are hungry already?” Aaron walked up to me with another 2 plates of food on his hand.
“You..” I pointed to him and then to the food on the table.
“I made all this.”
“You what??”
“I made all this, silly.”
“You know how to cook all this.”
“Yap. Hurry up and eat.” He pushes me to the chair. I took the fork and knife to cut one piece of the meat. It tastes good. I started eating more. Aaron started laughing. I looked up at him.
“What are you laughing at??” He came forward to me.
“You eat until the food is on your whole face, silly girl.” He started wiping off the crumbs away from my face. I looked at him. I could feel that I’m at the verge of crying. I just get touch so easily.
“Silly girl.” He hugged me.
Both of us started playing around the beach. We went to explore different parts of the island. Before the sun sets, we sat on the beach. I lay on Aaron’s shoulder.
“Aaron, will we stay like this forever?” He smiled.
“Not forever.” I sat up and looked at him. I was shocked by what he said. Not forever??
He turned around and looked into my eyes. “I want you to be with me always, whether in this life or next life. I want you to be with me, always.” I smiled at him. I turned to look across the sea.
“The sun set here is nice. Let me take a photo of it.” I took out of phone and shoot the photo. The first sun set that we see together. Suddenly, Aaron stood up.
“Aaron?”
He stood beside me. “May I have a dance with you?”
“Here?” He nodded. I put my hand on his. While dancing, all the sweet memories came back.

“Get your hand off her!”, I punched the man directly at his face. Gui Gui. “Gui Gui, Are you ok? Are you hurt?” The stupid man tore her shirt! She kept on crying. How to comfort her? Suddenly, she shouted.
“Aaron. Look out! Behind!” The moment I turned around, a wooden bat is right before my eyes. Immediately, I raise up my hand to shield the blow. Argh!! I stood up and snatched the wooden bat away from the man. I started hitting the man with the wooden

AH!!!!!! Ouch!! AH!!!” GUI?? I then realized. GUI!!! I rushed back to her house. My eyes widen. Unknowingly, I ran over to her and hug her tightly.
“Aaron! What are you doing??!! Go!! GO!!” I’m not leaving. I’m not leaving. Every stroke of cane hit on me firmly. But I’m not leaving. If I leave, those pains would be on her instead. This is how the wounds on her hands came from.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
Aaron drove to some grass area?? Eh? No one at sight. Are we going to have picnic here? I don’t remember preparing any food. I nudged him.
“Where is this place?? It looks so remote.” He just smiled and parked his car along the small road. Both of us came out from the car and headed to our right. I followed behind him. We walked and walked before coming to an area of ground. I looked up. Helicopter? Where are we going?
“Gui, Let’s go.” We headed to the helicopter. Within 5 minutes, we are “flying”. This is the first time I’m sitting in a helicopter. At first I didn’t dare to look down but Aaron encouraged me to.
“Gui, its’ save. I’m here too. Look down. It’s pretty.” Slowly, I took a peek down. I got much relax after seeing the scenery. It is so beautiful. Calm blue oceans, green forests, and graceful birds. I smiled.
“It’s beautiful right?” I nodded at him. After 20 minutes of “flying”, we landed on this unknown island. This beach is so white and clean.
“Where is this place??”
“Just follow me.” He smiled. I followed behind him. Just less than 10 minutes, we reached the chalet. I can’t believe my eyes. Rows of chalet, beautiful beach, outdoor restaurant and varieties of facilities – SPA, hot spring, gym, swimming pool.
“Gui, we’ll live here today.” He showed me to my room and left. I stand at the balcony, facing the sea. Take in a deep breath. The air here is so fresh.
Aaron. I guess the world really pity on me. Such a girl like me would actually meet such a great guy in life. Once, I didn’t dare to hold on to him. Now, I wanted to cherish him so much. I wouldn’t bear to let him go but I know and understand what would be the best for him. Few days later, he will be leaving Taiwan already. Today would be our last date. I want to stay by his side all day. I turned to look around my room. He really left. Where did he gone to?? I walked out of my room and started looking for him.
He’s not in his room. I walked to the beach but he’s not there. However, at the beach, I saw a table full of food. I’m so hungry. It is my imagination?? I walk closer to take a look.
“Guess you are hungry already?” Aaron walked up to me with another 2 plates of food on his hand.
“You..” I pointed to him and then to the food on the table.
“I made all this.”
“You what??”
“I made all this, silly.”
“You know how to cook all this.”
“Yap. Hurry up and eat.” He pushes me to the chair. I took the fork and knife to cut one piece of the meat. It tastes good. I started eating more. Aaron started laughing. I looked up at him.
“What are you laughing at??” He came forward to me.
“You eat until the food is on your whole face, silly girl.” He started wiping off the crumbs away from my face. I looked at him. I could feel that I’m at the verge of crying. I just get touch so easily.
“Silly girl.” He hugged me.
Both of us started playing around the beach. We went to explore different parts of the island. Before the sun sets, we sat on the beach. I lay on Aaron’s shoulder.
“Aaron, will we stay like this forever?” He smiled.
“Not forever.” I sat up and looked at him. I was shocked by what he said. Not forever??
He turned around and looked into my eyes. “I want you to be with me always, whether in this life or next life. I want you to be with me, always.” I smiled at him. I turned to look across the sea.
“The sun set here is nice. Let me take a photo of it.” I took out of phone and shoot the photo. The first sun set that we see together. Suddenly, Aaron stood up.
“Aaron?”
He stood beside me. “May I have a dance with you?”
“Here?” He nodded. I put my hand on his. While dancing, all the sweet memories came back.

Chapter Forty Five: Waiting for you
*Gui Gui’s POV*
This restaurant is under Yan Corporation?
“Not only this, we have some hotels, cafés, restaurants in other places and in other countries too.” Aaron continued. I didn’t hear him mention this before. It is really big businesses. No wonder Aaron’s dad and mum need him. I understand more of how they are feeling now.
“After eating lunch, you go straight home ok?”
“But I..”
“Aaron, you are still sick. Stay at home ok?” He nodded reluctantly. After eating, he went back home.
“Both of you looks good.” Scare me. When did my manager appear beside me? I just smiled at him and get back to work.
~At night~
I went back and home and saw Aaron sleeping on the sofa. I walked towards him and nudged him.
“Aaron.. Aaron..”
“You are back already?”
“Why are you sleeping here?”
“I was waiting for you. I didn’t realize that I slept while waiting.”
“Silly of you. Ok. I help you back to your room.”
I touched his forehead. It’s still hot. “You should have rest more!! Your temperature isn’t going down!” He smiled.
“Still dare to smile!” He hugged me from behind. “I smiled because I like the way you care for me and I’m happy that you are here with me.”
“Aaron, I will let you go.” I said.
“But Gui, I do not want to leave you alone.” I turned around and looked at him.
“I’m not alone.” I smiled. “You are always with me.”
“Gui..”
“Aaron, listen. You have to go back with your parents. They need you to carry on their business. You can’t selfish.”
“Can’t I be selfish because of you?” I stroke his hair and smiled.
“I will wait for you.” He hugged me tightly.
“Let’s go for a date tomorrow. I will tell your manager.” Aaron said. I nodded. This could be the last time that we go out for a date before he leaves.
~The Next Day~
I went into Aaron’s room and pull him up from his bed.
“Wake up!! I thought you say you want to go for a date?!” I started pulling his blanket.
“5 more minutes please.” And he turned over and sleeps again.
“No more 5 minutes. You have been saying that for the past 15 minutes.” I continue pulling his blanket but he ignored me.
“You do not want to wake up right? Then, I’m leaving already.” The moment I wanted to walk off, he grabbed onto my hand.
“Ok. I’m up. Don’t leave.” Aaron sat up on the bed and looked at me. I smiled. He started washing up and I waited for him at the living room.
“I’m ready. Let’s go.” Aaron pulled me up from the sofa and we headed to his car.
“Where are we going??” I asked him.
He smiled. “It’s a secret.”
*Gui Gui’s POV*

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Gui..” I heard Aaron calling me from outside.
“The door isn’t locked.”
“Silly boy. You are sick. Stop moving around.” I went up to him. “Hurry up and eat the porridge than go and rest ok?” I wanted to walk to take the porridge when he grabbed on to me. He stood up and hugged me.
“Aaron..”
“Gui, don’t be like this. I..” I pushed him away a little and looked at him. I touch his face. Guess I have made him worry about me so much.
“Aaron, I’m fine. I’m sorry that I made you worry. But I’m fine now. I understand how important work is. I will listen to your parents.”
“I..” I placed my finger on his lips.
“Don’t talk about this now. You have to rest. Eat your porridge first before it gets cold.”
“I took one for bowl for you too.” Both of us started eating the porridge and he slept on my bed. I touch his forehead. Sigh. I took the bowls down to the kitchen and the maids help me with the bowls. I went back to Aaron’s room and took the water with towel out of the room. I return to my room. I went into the toilet and change the water.
Aaron. I put the towel on his forehead. I wanted to walk away but he held on to my hand.
“Don’t leave.” I sat beside Aaron. I will wait for you.
~The Next Day~
*Aaron’s POV*
My head is spinning. I tried to sit up and I gave up after trying. I feel the left side of the bed. Where is Gui Gui?? What time is it now? I tried to sit up again. I slowly pushed myself up. Where did she gone to? I shift my body and slowly get up from the bed. I walked out of the room.
“Where is Gui Gui?” I asked the maid who is passing by.
“Young master, she went out already.” I signal her to leave. Went out already? Where did she go to? I went to take the phone and started dialing Gui’s number. But she didn’t pick up the call. This makes me worry. Does Hebe know where she went to? I dialed Hebe’s number.
“Hello?”
“Hello, Hebe? I’m Aaron.”
“Aaron?”
“Yea. Is Gui with you?”
“Yes. She’s with me. We are working. I thought she told you?” Oh yea. She is working. Think the medication makes me gone blur.
“Aaron?? Are you ok?? Do you need me to pass the phone to Gui? But we can’t talk to you for long.”
“Oh. It’s ok. What time your work ends?”
“10PM.”
“Ok. Tell Gui I will come and fetch her.”
“But you are sick, you should stay at home.” Then I heard Gui’s voice from the background. “What happened?”
Then Hebe told Gui that I wanted to come over to fetch her after work. “No. You call him to stay at home.”
“Aaron, Gui says you should stay at home.”
“Ask him to stay at home. If not I would get angry.” Gui said. But I’m worry for her.
“Ok then.” I replied then I put down the phone.

“Let’s get back to work.” I walked to the tables to clear the plates. I took the plates and headed for the kitchen. However, someone knocked into me causing my plates to drop and shattered all over the floor.

“WHAT SORRY?!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THIS SUIT COST??!!”
“I’m sorry. I wipe for you.” I took the cloth and wanted to wipe off the gravy on his shirt but he swipes my hand away.
“YOU STILL WANT TO USE THIS DIRTY CLOTH TO CLEAN MY SUIT!!” Just then the manager walked up to us.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. She is new here. We will pay for your shirt.” The manager told the customer.
“HOW MUCH YOU CAN PAY??!! DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN AFFORD??”
“I can.” I turned around to see Aaron standing in front of me. “How much you want?”

“Aaron.. I’m really fine. Hurry and go home ok?” I wanted to push him out of the place where my manager came up to me.
“Mr Yan, do you want a cup of coffee? Lunch? I can call the chef to prepare for you now.” What’s wrong with my manager?
Aaron looked at me. “Has she eaten?” My manager looked at me. “Erm.. She.. Has not eaten.” Aaron pulled me into the room.
“Prepare 3 sets of lunch. Hebe is coming with us.” I was stunned. What is happening?

“This restaurant is one of my family businesses. That customer just now is one of our company clients. His family business is failing and wanted us to help them.” My eyes widen.

*Aaron’s POV*
She has been acting strange since breakfast but she wouldn’t tell me what happened.
“Gui??” I waved my hand in front of her. “Gui, what happened? You don’t scare me ok?”
“Sorry. I’m fine. Let’s eat.”
“Are you sure you ok? Are you not feeling well?” She smiled at me.
“I’m fine.”
When we are back at home, she went straight back into her room. I thought she would come out any moment but she didn’t. I knock at her door and wanting to push the door open but I found out that she locked her room’s door.
“Gui? Are you inside? Can you open the door?” I kept on knocking but there isn’t any response. “Gui! Gui!!!” When she slowly open the door, I pushed the door wide opened.
“Gui, what happened to you??!! Why did you lock the door??!!!” I grabbed onto her.
“I’m fine ah. I was sleeping just now. I scared you come and bully me while I’m sleeping so I locked the door.” She smiled at me. I felt quite relieve after hearing this.
“Don’t ever do this again ok?!” She nodded.
“Gui, let’s go out ok?”
“I’m starting work tomorrow. I don’t feel like going out today.”
“Gui, I’m sure something happened. Can you..” I suddenly feel that whatever she said just now is just trying to comfort me.
She hugged me tightly, “I’m fine. I’m really fine.”.
“I’m fine. I’m just feeling tired.” She went back into the room without saying anything.
~At night~
I sat in the living room. I started thinking about the possible reasons which would cause Gui Gui to be like this but I couldn’t think of any. Just then, my mum and dad came back home.
“Aaron, why aren’t you sleeping?” My mum asked me.
“I’m worry about Gui Gui. She doesn’t seem right.” I saw my mum signaling to my dad and she walked away. My dad came to sit beside me. He patted on my back.
“Aaron, I have something to tell you.” I looked at my dad in confusion.
“We hope that you would go England with us.” My eyes grew wider. “We will be leaving in 1 week’s time. Gui Gui would stay here.”
“WHAT??!! Why can’t she go?”
“Your mum and I hope that you can focus on the business. Even if she goes, you wouldn’t have time for her. Moreover, she still need to study and graduate here.” I kept silent. That is the reason why Gui Gui has being acting so strangely since breakfast time. My dad patted on my shoulder before walking away. She has been crying, isn’t she?
I walked up to her room. She locked her room again. I do not know why but I sat outside her room. I don’t want to leave her. I didn’t want to.
~The Next Day~
My head seems to be spinning.
“Aaron? Aaron?” I heard Gui Gui calling me but my eyes just wouldn’t open.
“Why is Aaron sleeping here?” My dad came up.
“He is having a fever.”
“Huh? That silly boy. Let’s carry him to his room.” I could feel that I was being lifted up.
“Gui, can you help me to take care of him? His mum and I needed to go for a meeting now.”
“Yes, uncle. Drive safe.”
After a while, I got back my consciouses. No one was in the room. Where is Gui Gui? I struggle up and walked down the stairs. She was in the kitchen.
“Gui..”
“Why did you come down? You should be resting. I help you up.” She wanted to push me to move but I held on to her.
“I’m not leaving you alone.” She looked at me. She lowered down her head and lift up again. She smiled at me. “What are you talking about? Faster go and rest ok?” She tried to move me again.
“You know what I’m referring to.” I said. She stopped. Just then, the porridge that she is cooking boils. She quickly turned around to off the fire. Without thinking, she uses her bare hands to lift up the cover.
“Ouch!” The cover dropped onto the floor. I quickly used all my energy to run towards her. I took her hand. “Are you ok??” She took back her hand. “I’m fine.” She turned her back against me. I hugged her tightly from behind. “I’m not leaving. I promise you that I would not leave you.” She kept silent. She is crying again.
“Don’t be silly. Work is more important. Your parents need you. The company needs you.” Gui Gui said.
“Then what about you?” She didn’t say anything. “Gui, I need you.” I could feel that her tears flowing out more than before. She pushed me away and ran up to her room.
“Gui!!” Suddenly I feel very giddy. I quickly went to sit at the nearest chair. Gui.. After a while, I stood up and walked towards the stove. I scoop 2 bowls of porridge out of the pot. I asked the maid to help me carry the bowls of porridge. I walked up to Gui Gui’s room and knock on the door.
“Gui..”
“The door isn’t locked.” I walked into the room. I signal the maid to put the porridge on the table before leaving.
“Silly boy. You are sick. Stop moving around.” She pulled me to the bed. “Hurry up and eat the porridge than go and rest ok?” She tried to force a smile out. I grabbed her hand. I stood up and hugged her tightly.
*Aaron’s POV*
She has been acting strange since breakfast but she wouldn’t tell me what happened.
“Gui??” I waved my hand in front of her. “Gui, what happened? You don’t scare me ok?”
“Sorry. I’m fine. Let’s eat.”
“Are you sure you ok? Are you not feeling well?” She smiled at me.
“I’m fine.”
When we are back at home, she went straight back into her room. I thought she would come out any moment but she didn’t. I knock at her door and wanting to push the door open but I found out that she locked her room’s door.
“Gui? Are you inside? Can you open the door?” I kept on knocking but there isn’t any response. “Gui! Gui!!!” When she slowly open the door, I pushed the door wide opened.
“Gui, what happened to you??!! Why did you lock the door??!!!” I grabbed onto her.
“I’m fine ah. I was sleeping just now. I scared you come and bully me while I’m sleeping so I locked the door.” She smiled at me. I felt quite relieve after hearing this.
“Don’t ever do this again ok?!” She nodded.
“Gui, let’s go out ok?”
“I’m starting work tomorrow. I don’t feel like going out today.”
“Gui, I’m sure something happened. Can you..” I suddenly feel that whatever she said just now is just trying to comfort me.
She hugged me tightly, “I’m fine. I’m really fine.”.
“I’m fine. I’m just feeling tired.” She went back into the room without saying anything.
~At night~
I sat in the living room. I started thinking about the possible reasons which would cause Gui Gui to be like this but I couldn’t think of any. Just then, my mum and dad came back home.
“Aaron, why aren’t you sleeping?” My mum asked me.
“I’m worry about Gui Gui. She doesn’t seem right.” I saw my mum signaling to my dad and she walked away. My dad came to sit beside me. He patted on my back.
“Aaron, I have something to tell you.” I looked at my dad in confusion.
“We hope that you would go England with us.” My eyes grew wider. “We will be leaving in 1 week’s time. Gui Gui would stay here.”
“WHAT??!! Why can’t she go?”
“Your mum and I hope that you can focus on the business. Even if she goes, you wouldn’t have time for her. Moreover, she still need to study and graduate here.” I kept silent. That is the reason why Gui Gui has being acting so strangely since breakfast time. My dad patted on my shoulder before walking away. She has been crying, isn’t she?

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Gui??” Aaron kept on waving his hand in front of my eyes. “Gui, what happened? You don’t scare me ok?”
“Sorry. I’m fine. Let’s eat.”
“Are you sure you ok? Are you not feeling well?” I smiled at him.
“I’m fine.” Throughout the breakfast, I could feel that his eyes are on me. I tried to ignore him because I know I would cry out if I looked at him.
“Let’s go. I fetch the both of you home. Your mum and I need to head back to the company.” Aaron’s dad stood up and we follow him back to the car.
~At Aaron’s house~
I sat in on my bed, hugging my tatty bear.
~Flashback~
“Oh! We are hoping to ask Aaron to follow us back to England 1 week later.”
“Gui, I’m sorry. But I hope Aaron could start to focus on work earlier before he takes over the company when he is 21, which is 1 year later.”
“How long will he stay in England?”
“Probably 3 to 5 years?”

My tears started flowing down. Then, someone started knocking on my room’s door. I didn’t move an inch. I looked at the bracelet on my hand and feel the necklace over my neck. It just makes me wanting to cry even more. The knock got louder.
“Gui? Are you inside? Can you open the door?” Aaron kept on knocking the door. “Gui! Gui!!!” I slowly open the door. He quickly pushed open the door.
“Gui, what happened to you??!! Why did you lock the door??!!!” Aaron grabbed on to me. I managed to smile at him.
“I’m fine ah. I was sleeping just now. I scared you come and bully me while I’m sleeping so I locked the door.” I smiled at him. I lied to him. This is the first time I lied to him.
“Don’t ever do this again ok?!” He looked at me. I nodded at him. He felt relieved after seeing me nodding my head.

“Sorry Hebe, could you help me to tell the manager that I could not make it today? Aaron is running a fever.”

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Last paper!!!” I’m so happy of this. After so many of studying and coaching from Aaron, it’s finally the last paper and it’s finished. Exams ended and are holidays now!!
“Going anywhere??” Hebe asked.
“Let’s go eat, watch movie, play!!!” Calvin is very excited as usual.
We went around playing and eating before going home.

“I’m so tired.” After bathing, I slammed onto my bed. I hugged on to my tatty bear. Suddenly someone knock at my room’s door.

“Anything to say? Not sleeping?” I asked him. He came up to me and slept on my bed.

“Sleep.” He pulled me down and hugged me to sleep. Sometimes he just like a small child. Can’t do anything about him. Sigh.

“AH!!!” I pushed him away. “You haven’t brush your teeth. No kissing.” I stood in front of the bed. He started laughing. I grabbed one of the nearest pillows and threw towards him.

“Did my son bully you?” Aaron’s dad started laughing. Did they hear the conversation just now? I just smiled. After 5 minutes, Aaron walked out of my room and down the stairs.
“Did you bully Gui Gui just now?” Aaron’s dad asked him.
“Nope. When did I do that?” Stupid. Acting innocent. I glare at him. Pout.
“Ok Ok. Let’s go.” Aaron’s dad walked out of the house and we followed them. 4 of us headed to the park.
“Let’s cycle.” We rented 4 bikes and started cycling in the park. I have never seen this side of Aaron’s parents before. After riding for 2 hours, we returned the bike and headed for the nearest café.
“Both of you sit here. Aaron and I will get the food for you.” Aaron’s dad said and walked off with Aaron. Aaron’s mum smiled.
“Erm.. Auntie, don’t you and uncle have to work today?”
“We just wanted to accompany Aaron to make up for him. It has been so long since I see him smile.” Aaron’s mum smiled.
“Erm.. Auntie, what do you mean by ‘Both of you are in good relationship. Guess I should not be worried already.’?” She looked at me in confusion.
“You just now said when we are in the room.”
“Oh! We are hoping to ask Aaron to follow us back to England 1 week later.” I was shocked!!! Super shocked!!!

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Aaron?” He stood back facing me. I walked up to him. He was holding onto a photo. There are 3 people in the photo. He tried to hold back his tears. I hugged him tightly. I didn’t want to see him like this. Did I make a wrong decision of asking his mum and him to have a lunch together?
“Gui, I didn’t show you my family photo before, did I?” I shook my head. He passed me the photo. “This is the only family photo I have which is shot before my parents went to England. It has been so many years since I ever shoot a photo with them again.”
I touch Aaron’s face. “There will be still chance. There will be.” He smiled.
“Are you hungry? I’m hungry. Let’s go eat.” I giggle.
“I cook for you? Noodles?” He nodded. Both of us headed to the kitchen. After cooking, we sat at the dining room.
“Eat slowly, silly.”
“You are not eating?” Aaron asked me.
“Nope. I’m not hungry.”
“After eating, we continue studying?” I nodded.
We study and study till the night. Yawn. Tired. I’m hungry now. My stomach has been growling since half an hour before.
“Are you hungry already?” I nodded. He smiled. He held onto my hand and both of us went out of the room. What is this smell? It smells so nice. Both of us walked down the stairs and headed to the kitchen.
“I guess the both of you are hungry already. I cooked dinner. Let’s eat.” Auntie?!
I looked at Aaron. He seems shocked? I pulled him to the dining room.
“Let’s eat.” Aaron’s mum smiled.
“OK!!” I took my chopsticks, getting ready to eat. Aaron who is sitting beside me is still dazing.
“Aaron, I remember these are your favourite dishes when you were young. Eat it while it’s still warm.” Aaron is still dazing away. I nudged him. He nodded at his mum and started eating.
*Aaron’s POV*
It’s the same smell, same taste – my mum’s cooking. How long have I not tasted her cooking? Maybe is because I haven’t feel this warm feeling from her for so long, my tears flow down while eating.
“Aaron..” Gui Gui saw me.
“I’m fine.”
~After dinner~
I walked to the kitchen and saw my mum in at the kitchen, keeping the leftover in the fridge. This scene seems familiar. I remember when I was 9, I saw my mum doing the same thing too. Why did she do this? She can call the maid to do it now. Since now is different from the past. I walked up to her.
“Yes Aaron?”
“I..” She stopped whatever she is doing and looked at me.
“Yea?”
“Thank you.” I said.
“For?”
“The dinner.” My mum looked at me and smile. She walked towards me and touches my face. I could feel that my tears are rolling down again. Taking a closer look at her, she has aged.
“Mum.” I hugged her. She pats my back. It has been so many years since I hugged her. I miss her.
We broke off and Gui Gui was standing at the kitchen door. I walked up to her.
“Thank you.” I hugged her. I’m so glad that I met her. I looked into her eyes. It just makes me loving her even more. I kiss her on her lips. I could feel my mum smiling and walked out of the kitchen.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
Aaron and I are at the airport now, waiting for his dad to come out. I never see his dad before except for the photo.
“Aaron, is your dad out yet?”
“I don’t see him coming out.” Just then, someone tap on Aaron’s shoulder. Both of us turned around.
“Dad?!” Aaron said. This man standing in front of us looks different from the photo. He just nodded and smiled.
“You have grown taller already.” Aaron’s dad pats on his shoulder and smiled.
“Dad, you look older.”
“Of course. It has been 8 years. Let’s go.”
We then drive his dad back home.
“Where’s your mum?”
“She is at the company.”
“Working hard as usual.” Aaron’s dad looks friendly. The way he talks to you like he is your friend. If ever I can have a dad like this. He suddenly realized my existence.
“Boy, you have not introduced this lady to me.” He smiled at me.
“Hello uncle, I’m Gui Gui.” He smiled.
“Girlfriend? Or wife?” And he started laughing. I blushed.
“Aaron, I heard from your mum that the past few days you were cold to her. I hope the distances between us have disappeared. I’m sorry for leaving you alone while you are still small, neglecting you and not coming back to celebrate your birthday as promise. Guess we failed as being parents huh?”
“Dad..”
“Gui Gui, glad you are with him.” He smiled at me.
“No problem uncle.” I hold Aaron’s hand and smile at him.
“Boy, if you dare to bully her, you shall get it from me.” I chuckled.
“Thanks uncle.”
“Ok. Let’s go out and have dinner.” Aaron’s dad stood up and headed to his room to change before going out.
We had our dinner with Aaron’s mum too.

“Aaron?” He stood back facing me. I walked up to him. He was holding onto a photo. There are 3 people in the photo. He tried to hold back his tears. I hugged him tightly. I didn’t want to see him like this. Did I make a wrong decision of asking his mum and him to have a lunch together?
“Gui, I didn’t show you my family photo before, did I?” I shook my head. He passed me the photo. “This is the only family photo I have which is shot before my parents went to England. It has been so many years since I ever shoot a photo with them again.”
I touch Aaron’s face. “There will be still chance. There will be.” He smiled.
“Are you hungry? I’m hungry. Let’s go eat.” I giggle.
“I cook for you? Noodles?” He nodded. Both of us headed to the kitchen. After cooking, we sat at the dining room.
“Eat slowly, silly.”
“You are not eating?” Aaron asked me.
“Nope. I’m not hungry.”
“After eating, we continue studying?” I nodded.
We study and study till the night. Yawn. Tired. I’m hungry now. My stomach has been growling since half an hour before.
“Are you hungry already?” I nodded. He smiled. He held onto my hand and both of us went out of the room. What is this smell? It smells so nice. Both of us walked down the stairs and headed to the kitchen.
“I guess the both of you are hungry already. I cooked dinner. Let’s eat.” Auntie?!
I looked at Aaron. He seems shocked? I pulled him to the dining room.
“Let’s eat.” Aaron’s mum smiled.
“OK!!” I took my chopsticks, getting ready to eat. Aaron who is sitting beside me is still dazing.
“Aaron, I remember these are your favourite dishes when you were young. Eat it while it’s still warm.” Aaron is still dazing away. I nudged him. He nodded at his mum and started eating.
*Aaron’s POV*
It’s the same smell, same taste – my mum’s cooking. How long have I not tasted her cooking? Maybe is because I haven’t feel this warm feeling from her for so long, my tears flow down while eating.
“Aaron..” Gui Gui saw me.
“I’m fine.”
~After dinner~
I walked to the kitchen and saw my mum in at the kitchen, keeping the leftover in the fridge. This scene seems familiar. I remember when I was 9, I saw my mum doing the same thing too. Why did she do this? She can call the maid to do it now. Since now is different from the past. I walked up to her.
“Yes Aaron?”
“I..” She stopped whatever she is doing and looked at me.
“Yea?”
“Thank you.” I said.
“For?”
“The dinner.” My mum looked at me and smile. She walked towards me and touches my face. I could feel that my tears are rolling down again. Taking a closer look at her, she has aged.
“Mum.” I hugged her. She pats my back. It has been so many years since I hugged her. I miss her.
We broke off and Gui Gui was standing at the kitchen door. I walked up to her.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
I took another lift and run after him. I run out of the lift and saw him going out of the company from the main door. I increased my speed and stopped him. We stood outside the company’s main door.
“Aaron..” He stood in front of me, back facing me. I walked in front of him. The mixed feelings he has on his face – Sad? Angry? Or disappointed? I put my hand on his face.
“Aaron.” Someone called him and the both of us turn around.
*Aaron’s Mum’s POV*
The time when I end my meeting is 3 hours later. The moment I went out, Jasmine came up to me.
“Boss, they had just left.”
“Left? What time is it now?”
“4:05PM.” They have been waiting for me for 3 hours.
“Ok. Put these documents in my office. I’m going out now.” I took my bag and went to take the lift.
I saw the both of them standing outside the company.
“Aaron.” The both of them turned around and I walked up to them.
“Auntie.” Gui Gui smiled at me. I turned to Aaron. “I’m sorry. Let’s go and have lunch now.”

“MRS YAN!! LONG TIME NO SEE!! LET ME GIVE YOU A PRESENT FIRST!!” I was shocked by this. The man is trying to pour a pail of water on me. Is that water? Or kerosene?
“MUM!! LOOK OUT!!” Things just happened in a few seconds.
“AARON!!!” I heard Gui Gui shouting his name. I was being pushed away and down onto the floor with Aaron on top of me.

After waiting so long at the company, she isn’t out yet. Does she really want to have lunch with us? We waited for 3 hours and within this 3 hours, I keep hearing this sentence - “Is Mrs Yan out yet?” Gui Gui kept on asking Jasmine. And the reply is always, “She is still having meeting.” After 3 hours of waiting, I walked out of the company.
“Aaron!” Gui Gui called me.
“Let’s go.” I said coldly. Gui Gui held onto my hand. I paused a while before swing it away and took the lift down. She chased after me.
“Aaron..” My feelings got so mixed up now. What should I be feeling now? I have no idea.
“Aaron.” Just then, my mum called me. Gui Gui and I turned around.
“Auntie.” Gui Gui smiled at her.
“I’m sorry. Let’s go and have lunch now.”
“Don’t you have to work?” I said coldly.
“Mum is free now. Let’s go and have lunch.” She held my hand but I swing it away before walking away. After walking a few steps, I heard this.

I turned around and saw the man holding onto a pail. He wanted to pour it on to my mum. I saw he is holding a lighter on another hand. I thought the pail is filled with kerosene.
“MUM!! LOOK OUT!!” I ran towards my mum and hugged her. I pushed her away and both of us fell onto the ground.
“AARON!!!” Gui Gui shouted for me.
“Mum, are you ok?” I helped her up.
“Yea. Thank you, Aaron.” Both of us looked at each other. I let go of my hand.
“Are the both of you alright?” Gui Gui asked. I nodded at her and smile.
“Yes. Thank you.” My mum replied.
“Let me go!!! LET ME GO!!!” 2 securities was grabbing onto the man.
“THERE IS NO LAW!! NO LAW!!” The man shouted while being pulled away.
“Who is he?” I asked.
“He is once an employee at our company. Your dad sacked him away because he cheated company’s money. He pleaded your dad to give him a chance but your dad didn’t.” My mum looked at me. I feel so strange now. I turned around and started walking.
Gui Gui ran up to me and grabbed onto my arm. I stopped. Just as I wanted to walk back, I heard this.
“Mrs Yan, Dr Teo is on the line now. He wanted to have an emergency conference meeting with you now.”
“But I..” I started walking away again. Gui Gui caught up with me and hugged me from the back. “Aaron..”
“I’m fine. Let’s go home ok?” I hold onto Gui Gui’s hand and walked back to my car.

“We are back.” Aaron. He came up and hugged me tightly.
“You made me worry. Where did you go?”
“I’m sorry.” I smiled at him.
He looks so tired. “Aaron, go and take a rest ok?” He shook his head.
“Aaron..”
“If not you rest with me.” I hesitated for a while.
“Ok.” I smiled at him. “Let’s go.” Both of us walked up the stairs. “Wait, I go get my tatty bear.” I run into my room and carry my tatty bear.
~In his room~
I put the tatty bear beside the bed. “Aaron, faster rest.” I pulled him to the bed.
“Don’t leave ok?” I nodded at him. I touch his face. He held onto my hand and pulled me into his hug.
~The Next Day~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
Yawn. Bright and Sunny!! Today is Sunday!!! Maybe we should go out today. Or..
Let’s meet auntie for lunch?! Yes!
I wanted to sit up but a strong arm is hugging my waist. I turned around and saw Aaron’s face closed up to mine. I almost forgot. I’m sleeping with him. I slowly lift up his arm and tip-toe into the toilet. After washing up, I went back to the bed. Let him sleep a little while more. I carry my tatty bear and left his room.
“Morning Auntie.” She is reading newspaper.
“Morning.” I sat down on her right.
“Erm..” I hesitated. Should I ask her?
She put down the newspaper, “Do you have anything to tell me?” I nodded.
“Can we eat lunch together today with Aaron?”
“Why?” This cold voice shocked me. It wasn’t reply by Aaron’s mum but instead it was Aaron. When did he start standing at the dining room? I looked at him.
“Sure. 1pm at the restaurant opposite our company. I got to leave for work now.” She stood up. “Oh ya! Aaron, your dad is coming to Taiwan 2 days later. Pick him up at the airport at 4pm.” She smiled at him and walked out of the dining room.
Oh man! Now is awkward. I was thinking to lie to Aaron that we are going out for lunch and then meet auntie so he wouldn’t have a chance to run away. Sigh. Now he is staring at me.
“Gui.”
“Ya?” I tried to act as if nothing happened but..
“What are you planning?”
“I.. I..” Sigh. “Just planning to have lunch with your mum?”
“Then why should I go too?” I stood up and walk towards him. “Please?” He nodded silently. I smiled widely at him.
“Let’s eat breakfast!!” I pulled him to sit down.
After eating, we went to the study room and study. Exams are coming. I have to start revising again.
“Gui, Take a rest first. I call the maid to prepare some snacks already.” The maid took 2 cup of tea and cookies into the room.
“Ok. After I solve this mathematic question.” I can’t solve this. I looked at the amount of paper I had threw – mountain pile. He walked over to my side. “I teach you ok?” He smiled. He started explaining the question and solved the question. I took hours to think of it but he just took 10 minutes. I looked at him in disbelieve.
“Understand?” I nodded at him.
“Take a rest first ok?” I nodded.
“What time is it now?” I asked Aaron while munching on the cookie.
“12pm.” 12?!
“AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed and run out of the room. We are meeting auntie for lunch, remember?
“Gui, What happened?” He chase after me.
“We are supposed to have lunch with your mum remember?” I looked at him. His eyes suddenly turn expressionless.
“Aaron..” He just nodded and walked to his room. I went back to my room and bath.
After bathing, I walked down the stairs. I saw Aaron sitting at the living room.
“Ready to go?” My eyes lighten. I ran up to him. “Yes!” He smiled at me.

“Is Mrs Yan in her office?” I asked Jasmine.
“She is having a meeting now.”
“Oh ok. Then we wait for her here.” Jasmine nodded and continues with her work.

“Yes. I think she would be out soon.” I looked at Aaron. He didn’t say anything from the moment we stepped into the company. I hold onto his hand.
Another 1 hour pass. I saw Jasmine walking out again. I walked up to her. “Is Mrs Yan out yet?”
“Not yet. She told me to bring 2 cups of tea for the both of you.” I then realized the tray she is holding on to. She placed the cups on the table and left. I looked at Aaron. He suddenly stood up and walked out to the lift.
“Aaron!” I called up to him.
“Let’s go.” He said coldly. I held on to his hand. He swing off my hand and walked into the lift. The tears started flowing out.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Aaron!!!” I shouted for him but he didn’t turn back. I worried for him now. I wanted to find him but Calvin held onto me. “Gui, where are you going?”
“I want to go and find Aaron!!”
“Where do you want to go and find?!! I go and find with you!!” Calvin stared at me. I’m being too impulsive causing Calvin almost flaring up at me.
“I know where!!!” I swing off Calvin’s hand and started running. “Gui!!” He ran up to me and pulled me back. “You tell me where. I send you there.”
He turned to Hebe. “You wait for me here ok?”
“But.. I want to go too.”
Calvin smiled at her. “We will be back soon.” Calvin and I walked to his car.
“I’m sorry Calvin. I should be calmer.”

“Aaron?” I walked around the playground. He’s not here? Than where can he be? Just as I turned around, someone hug me from the back. I was shocked. Who is that? This feeling.. Aaron. He’s crying? I wanted to turn around.
“Don’t turn around. I will be fine after a while.” I saw Calvin standing in front of me. I looked at him. He nodded at me and mouth to me.
“I go first.” I nodded at him. I struggle off Aaron’s hug to turn around to look at him. I held his face. “Aaron, don’t scare me like this. You said before. I’m not allowed to run off like this. You should not run off like this too. I will get worry.” He didn’t say anything.
“Aaron, I know you love them. I know it. It’s because there is the existence of love, so you would feel disappointed and sad if they neglect you. But you know it right? They love you.” I looked at him. He kept quiet.
Do you know? This is want I learn – because there are feelings so you would feel angry or sad if they did something which you do not like it. Maybe I love my dad too but because he always beat me which covered up the love. Or maybe he did love me too, is just that he showed it in a wrong way. I do not know. The only thing I can confirm is that – Cherish people while they are beside you because you’ll never know when you would regret after they left. Mum. You would bless Aaron too, right?
I hold onto both of his hand. “Aaron, I promise. I will help you to get back the feeling that you have buried off. Let’s go home now.”

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Calvin, can you give me a lift?” I asked him.
“Sure. Where do you want to go?”
“I want to go to Auntie’s company.”

Maybe Gui is right. Because I love them so I got hurt when I feel that they had neglected me. Thank you, Gui. I will try. I will try to untangle the knot in my heart. After going home, I went to bath but after finishing bathing, I couldn’t find Gui.
“Hebe? Left you alone? Where are Calvin and Gui?”
“Both of them went out.”
“Where did they go?”
“They.. They.. They went out to buy some things.” Hebe smiled at me. She seems to be hiding something. I tried to call Gui and Calvin but both of them didn’t pick up their phone.
“Aaron, you don’t have to worry. Calvin is with her.”

“Calvin, you wait for me outside ok?” He nodded at me.
“Miss, who are you looking for?” One of the ladies asked me.
“I would like to see your CEO, Mrs Yan, please.”
“May I know your name?”
“I’m Gui Gui.”
“Ok. Please wait for a moment.” After a while, she came back. “Please follow me.” She led me into the office and to her room.
*Knock Knock*
“Come in.” A voice came from inside the room.
“Please go in.”
“Thank you.” I walked into the room. “Auntie.”
“Gui Gui right?” I nodded. “Please take a seat.” She pointed to the seat in front of her. “What brings you here?” She smiled at me.
“It’s about Aaron. I hope you can care for him more.” His mum looked at me with a puzzled face. “Aaron? Why do you say this?”
“I’m sorry for saying this. But he didn’t mean to be cold to you this morning. He just feels strange seeing you again after so many years. He..” His mum started laughing. “Impossible. He loves me and his dad a lot. But I did appreciate that he has a girlfriend like you.”
“Auntie. I..” She stopped me. “I know. I will take note of it. I’m busy now. I’m sorry.”
“Joyce, please send her out.” She pressed on the intercom of the phone.
“Auntie..”
“Miss..” She showed me out of the room.
“Sorry to disturb.” I bowed and walked out of the room reluctantly. I walked back to where Calvin is.
“How was it?” I shook my head. Sigh. “Let’s go.”

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Aaron!!!” I shouted for him but he didn’t turn back. I worried for him now. I wanted to find him but Calvin held onto me. “Gui, where are you going?”
“I want to go and find Aaron!!”
“Where do you want to go and find?!! I go and find with you!!” Calvin stared at me. I’m being too impulsive causing Calvin almost flaring up at me.
“I know where!!!” I swing off Calvin’s hand and started running. “Gui!!” He ran up to me and pulled me back. “You tell me where. I send you there.”
He turned to Hebe. “You wait for me here ok?”
“But.. I want to go too.”
Calvin smiled at her. “We will be back soon.” Calvin and I walked to his car.

Chapter Thirty Six: The distant
~In Aaron’s room~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
I walked into Aaron’s room and closed the door. “Aaron?” I walked up to him and stood in front of him. I put my hand over his waist.
“Aaron, are you ok? What happened to you?” He hugged me suddenly. “Stay like this for while.” I patted him on his back.
*Aaron’s POV*
I didn’t want to be like this. I didn’t want to. Do you know how badly I wanted to see her including my dad? But every time, at the moment I saw her, the only topic we could talk about is work and work – Nothing else. If ever time could reverse, reverse to the times that my mum is always with me, my dad bringing me out to play. The frequency of meeting them now is probably one or twice in a year, or maybe zero even. But now, she is right in front of me. I.. I just hope that I could still behave willfully as a child. It’s just a knot in my heart that I’m unable to untie it.
“Aaron, I know you miss your mum, isn’t it? You said that before. But why did you..” Gui tried to figure out the reasons for my action.
“It is because I felt the distant from her. I’m afraid of the emptiness in between her and me. She always calls me for work. I felt different from last time I used to feel. I.. I can’t explain this. I..” I started to get very vexed over this feeling, this unfamiliar feeling, and the lost that I’m unable to deal with. This was the second time I cried because of her. The first time was when my mum and dad left me in Taiwan, and they went to England. I remember that day at the airport. I was only 12.
~Flashback~
“Mum, can you don’t go??” I pulled onto my mum’s skirt. “Aaron needs you. Can you stay?”
“Sorry Aaron. I can’t. I promise that I will come back to celebrate your 13th birthday ok??” My mum pulled my hand away from her skirt.
“Nanny, take him back.”
“No! Mum!!” I started crying. I run over to my dad. “Dad, you will stay right?? You will right??”
“Aaron, don’t cry. You are a man. You cannot cry over such small little things you know?” My dad wiped my tears away. It’s not a small little thing!! It isn’t!!
“Dad, don’t go!! Mum!!”
“Aaron, be a good boy. Listen to whatever your nanny says ok? Daddy will come back with your mum during your birthday ok? And daddy gets you a big airplane?? Ok??” And I saw my dad signaling to my nanny to take me away.
He told the nanny. “Take care of him.” After saying, they both walked away. No matter how much I shouted out for them, they didn’t turn back to look at me. Every day, I stayed alone in the house. It was finally then my 13th birthday arrived. They promised me that they would return. But in the end, they didn’t. I only received presents from them. I waited for 3 years and they still didn’t return. In the end, they sent me to Australia.

Waiting for another 3 years and this is the fourth year, I finally saw her. 7 years of waiting, it caused me to change. It was then Gui Gui, who appear into my life which makes me feel a sense of power again.
“Aaron.” She hugged me tightly. “I’m here with you. It’s fine. Let’s go down ok?” Gui Gui held onto my hand. We walked back to the dining room.
“Where’s auntie?” Gui Gui asked Calvin and Hebe who are still sitting at the dining room.
“After receiving a call from the company, she went out. Oh. And that’s your birthday present given by your mum.” I took the present and read the card.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Gui..” I looked up at him. “Will you accept me now? Can I be the one who stay at your side and protect you?”
“I..”
“I love you, Gui. I really do.” I went up to his ears and whispered to him. “I love you too.” His smile grew wider.
“So does it mean that you will accept me??” I nodded in response. “OH YES!!!!” He became too happy and started jumping around.
“Aaron Aaron. Relax. Hebe and Calvin are still sleeping.” I tried to hold on to Aaron. He suddenly hugged me tightly. “Thank you.” I started giggling.
“Ok. Go and eat now. I heat up the vermicelli for you.” I walked to the kitchen with him following behind me. I heat up the vermicelli and put it on the table.
“Here’s your cake too.” I took the cake out from the fridge.
“Why you keep on looking at me?” I asked him. He has been staring at me from just now when I heat up his vermicelli. He just smiled and started eating.
“Eat slowly. Nobody is going to snatch the food from you.” I sat down in front of him.
“Gui, I’m sorry about just now. I told my mum that I have something on but she wouldn’t let me go.” I put my finger on his lips to stop him from continuing.
“I told you its ok.” I smiled at him. He took my hand away from his lips. “I’m glad that I met you.”
My heart feels a sudden of sweetness. It’s just as if I ate honey a moment ago. “Hurry up and eat before it gets cold again.” He nodded and continues eating.
“It’s nice.”
“Thanks.”
After he had finished eating, he pulled me up the stairs into a room.
“This is for you.” He handed me a big tatty bear. My eyes widen.
“AH!!! It’s so cute.” I started cuddling it.
“Hi tatty bear. My name is Gui Gui. What’s yours?” I smiled and patted the bear. And Aaron started giggling.
“Hey! What are you laughing at?”
“Nothing.” HOH!! And I started chasing him around the room.
“Oh ya. I have something for you too.” I took out the other necklace that Hebe and Calvin bought.
“What is this?”
“Calvin and Hebe gave me this for my birthday. I have one too.” I show him the necklace that I’m wearing. He took the necklace from me.
“A&G.” And he smiled. “Help me put it on.” I took the necklace and helped him put it on.
“Nice?” I nodded at him.
~The Next Day~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Morning tatty bear.” I looked at the bear which is sitting on my bed. I walked to the toilet and wash myself up before walking down the stairs. Eh? Where are Calvin and Hebe? Then, I heard noises coming out from the dining room. They are there.
“Morni..” I walked into the room and saw someone unfamiliar sitting with the both of them. Who is she? She turned around and looked at me. She smiled.
“Morning.” I greeted her.
“Morning. Come and take a sit here.” She patted at the seat to her right. I walked over and sat down. I was sitting in front of Hebe and Calvin.
“Gui, this is Aaron’s mum.” Aaron’s mum??!!! She looks so young!!
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“It’s ok. Sit down and have your breakfast. Where’s Aaron?”
“He should be still sleeping.” I replied her. Aaron’s mum. She looks nice.
“Oh ok. Since is holiday, let him sleep a little while more. Later, I would want him to go to the company for a while.”
“Huh?”
“Nothing. You are Gui Gui right?”
“Ah, yes.”
“I hope you are still comfortable living here.”
“Ah, yes. I’m sorry for the trouble.”
“Oh no. It’s ok. His dad and I also do not always stay here either. I hope you could stay here and accompany him too.” I smiled at her.

“Oh. Dear, early in the morning we got sore eyes already.” Calvin started acting like a kid in front of Hebe.
“Oh yes.” And the both of them started giggling. Aaron’s mum smile at the both of us but Aaron seems to be ignoring his mum.
“Aaron, I need you to go to the company today and take a look at it.”
“Not today.” He said coldly and left. Eh??

Chapter Thirty Four: Late
*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Aaron.. He..” Hebe nudged Calvin to signal him to reply my question.
“He will be here soon. Let’s wait for him.” Calvin took a look at me. “He will celebrate your birthday with you, don’t worry. He said he will.” I nodded at him.
We waited for 2 hours but there is still no sight of him coming home. Calvin kept on calling him but he had already switched off his phone. Did something happen to him?
“What is Aaron doing?” I asked Calvin.
“He.. He was being called by his mum for meeting.” I looked down on the floor.
“I’m sure he will be back.” Calvin assured me.
“Are you both hungry? I cook vermicelli for the both of you? My mum cooks for me during my birthday every year.” I smiled at them.
“Sure. Thank you.” Calvin said.
“I’m helping you with it.” Hebe followed me into the kitchen.
After 30 minutes,
“Here you go. Let’s start eating.” Hebe and I took the bowls of vermicelli to the dining table.
“How about Aaron?” Calvin asked.
“I saved some for him.” I smiled at him.
After another 2 hours, Aaron is still not back yet.
“Let’s cut the cake first.” I suggested. “I guess he is not coming back soon.”
“Let’s wait a little while more.” Calvin got stressed up now.
I smiled at him. “It’s ok. We’ll save some for him.” I took the knife and start cutting the cake. After eating, we took some games out and play.
“Oh ya!! I totally forget about it. Here you go, Gui. Happy birthday. This is given by me and Calvin.” Hebe passed me a box.
“What’s inside? Can I open it?” I took the box and started shaking it.
“Yea. You can open it.” It is a couple necklaces.
“Calvin and I have one pair too. We took another design for you and Aaron. Gui, I hope you can find your own happiness. Aaron is really a very nice guy. You should consider him.” I looked at the necklaces. There are names curve on it – A&G, Aaron and Gui Gui.
After waiting so long, Calvin and Hebe fell asleep on the sofa. Both of them look cute together. I went out to the pool and take a night stroll. Where is he? I touch the necklace which is hung over my neck. The necklaces brought by Calvin and Hebe.
Just then, I heard someone called my name.
“Gui!!” I turned around.
*Aaron’s POV*
I needed to rush the Empire Hotel. I hope that the meeting would end early but it didn’t. It kept on dragging and dragging for hours.
“Mum, I really need to go off now.” My mum ignored whatever I say. I’m so pissed off now. She made me off my phone too. Gui Gui. How is she now?
Another 2 hours passed. ARGH! How long will these meeting takes?!! I kept on looking at my watch. The time kept on passing. I just hope that the time would stop.
“Ok. Let’s take a break now.” The secretary stood up and said. “Mum, I need to go off now!” The moment I stood up, my mum held me back. “Mum!!” ARGH!!!
2 hours passed again. Waiting..
“Ok. Dismiss.” My mum said. I immediately rushed out of the room. “Aaron!!”
I turned around. “If there is anything else, let’s talk it at home.” I said coldly before leaving. I rushed to back to my car and speed back to my house. Calvin and Hebe have both fallen asleep on the sofa. Where’s Gui Gui? She’s not in her room. I looked all over the house. She’s not in. I walked out to the garden than to the pool.
“Gui!!” She turned around and looked at me.
“Are you ok? You are panting so heavily.” She walked up to me.
“I’m sorry.” I hugged her tightly. “It’s ok. Work is more important. I will understand. Take a breath first, silly.” Gui Gui is really a nice girl. I smiled at her.
“Have you eaten anything yet? I saved some vermicelli for you. And there is cake too. Let’s go.” She wanted to pull me back into the house where I held onto her.
“Aaron?” I pulled her up close to me and kiss her on her lips.
*Gui Gui’s POV*
0_0! Aaron?! He.. I..
“Gui..” I looked up at him. “Will you accept me now? Can I be the one who stay at your side and protect you?”
“I..”
*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Aaron.. He..” Hebe nudged Calvin to signal him to reply my question.
“He will be here soon. Let’s wait for him.” Calvin took a look at me. “He will celebrate your birthday with you, don’t worry. He said he will.” I nodded at him.
We waited for 2 hours but there is still no sight of him coming home. Calvin kept on calling him but he had already switched off his phone. Did something happen to him?
“What is Aaron doing?” I asked Calvin.
“He.. He was being called by his mum for meeting.” I looked down on the floor.
“I’m sure he will be back.” Calvin assured me.
“Are you both hungry? I cook vermicelli for the both of you? My mum cooks for me during my birthday every year.” I smiled at them.
“Sure. Thank you.” Calvin said.
“I’m helping you with it.” Hebe followed me into the kitchen.
After 30 minutes,
“Here you go. Let’s start eating.” Hebe and I took the bowls of vermicelli to the dining table.
“How about Aaron?” Calvin asked.
“I saved some for him.” I smiled at him.
After another 2 hours, Aaron is still not back yet.
“Let’s cut the cake first.” I suggested. “I guess he is not coming back soon.”
“Let’s wait a little while more.” Calvin got stressed up now.
I smiled at him. “It’s ok. We’ll save some for him.” I took the knife and start cutting the cake. After eating, we took some games out and play.
“Oh ya!! I totally forget about it. Here you go, Gui. Happy birthday. This is given by me and Calvin.” Hebe passed me a box.
“What’s inside? Can I open it?” I took the box and started shaking it.
“Yea. You can open it.” It is a couple necklaces.
“Calvin and I have one pair too. We took another design for you and Aaron. Gui, I hope you can find your own happiness. Aaron is really a very nice guy. You should consider him.” I looked at the necklaces. There are names curve on it – A&G, Aaron and Gui Gui.
After waiting so long, Calvin and Hebe fell asleep on the sofa. Both of them look cute together. I went out to the pool and take a night stroll. Where is he? I touch the necklace which is hung over my neck. The necklaces brought by Calvin and Hebe.
Just then, I heard someone called my name.
“Gui!!” I turned around.
*Aaron’s POV*
I needed to rush the Empire Hotel. I hope that the meeting would end early but it didn’t. It kept on dragging and dragging for hours.
“Mum, I really need to go off now.” My mum ignored whatever I say. I’m so pissed off now. She made me off my phone too. Gui Gui. How is she now?
Another 2 hours passed. ARGH! How long will these meeting takes?!! I kept on looking at my watch. The time kept on passing. I just hope that the time would stop.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
Today is my birthday!!! Oh. But.. Will anyone remember it? Everyone looks the same. Doesn’t seems like there is going to be any surprises? Sigh. I looked at Hebe. She is focusing on the lesson. Aaron and Calvin too. Sigh. I turned around and looked at the board, trying to focus.
~After school~
“Gui, can you go out with me? I needed to get something.” Hebe asked me.
“Ok.” And she happily pulled me out of the classroom immediately. Eh?

I winked at Hebe when they walked out of the classroom.
“Let’s ok, Calvin.”
“Sure.” 3 of us including Hebe were very excited over this but things don’t go as smoothly as you think it would be.
Just as I’m going to step out of the classroom, my phone rings.
“Hello?”
“Aaron, mum here. I just arrived at Taiwan but I heading to the meeting straight away. You will meet me there.”
“Huh? Mum? But I have something on today.”
“What’s more important than the meeting?”

“No more but. I’ll wait for you here. Come to Empire Hotel.”
“Mum. Mum!” The line went dead. What now?
“Buddy, what happened?” Calvin tapped my shoulder.
“My mum is in Taiwan.”
“Now?!”
“Yes. She wants me to go to Empire Hotel now. She said that I must be present at the meeting. I go there for a while. Can you help me decorate the house and get the cake I ordered?” Calvin nodded.

“I know. I’ll be back as soon as possible.” I quickly took my bag and rushed out of the classroom. Of all time, my mum picks this day!!! ARGH!!

“Hebe, what exactly you want to buy? We have been walking for hours. Have you remembered what you want to buy?” Both of us have been turning in circles – again and again.
“I’m thinking.” We walked into the same shop again.
“Gui, wait. Calvin called me.” I nodded at her.

“Hello? Calvin, are you all done yet?” I whispered into the phone.
“Aaron’s mum return to Taiwan and called him out for meeting. I’m at Aaron’s house now doing all the decorations myself. You try to hold on longer.”
“Now? Meeting? I’m trying too but I can’t hold any longer.”
“Try to. I’m sorry, bebe.”
“Ok then.” I put down the phone and went back to Gui Gui.
“Did anything happen?” Gui Gui asked me.
“Erm.. Is about Aaron.”
“What happened to Aaron??!!!” She started panicking and grabbed tightly onto my arm.
“Chill, Gui. Nothing happened. It’s just that Aaron’s mum came back to Taiwan.”

Aaron’s mum?! Is she fierce or strict? I’m living at Aaron’s house now!! Will she be mad at Aaron?!

“Why?”

“Really? Then let’s hurry back!! I need to go back and pack my things.” I pulled Hebe out of the shop and head towards Aaron’s house.

*Gui Gui’s POV*
We are at Aaron’s house now – studying. Yawn. So tired.
“Gui, do you want to take a rest first?” Aaron asked me.
“Nope. I will be fine.” Exams are just one month after my birthday. My birthday. Will anyone remember when my birthday is? Mum is not here anymore. Mum.. Tears started flowing down again.
“Gui? What happened?” Aaron asked me. Calvin and Hebe turned to look at me.
“Gui, take a rest ok?” Hebe patted me on my back.
“I’m sorry.” I immediately stood up and ran to the toilet. This action startles the 3 of them.
“I go and take a look.” Hebe chased after me.
I stood in the toilet silently.
~Flashback~
“Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to my Gui, Happy birthday to you!!” This is the first time my mum celebrates my birthday with me. My mum baked a cake herself for me. But I didn’t get to eat it. Before I could even eat it, my dad comes out with a very bad temper and started smashing anything he sees including my cake.
I looked at the smashed cake that is on the floor. I broke down into tears.
“WHAT ARE YOU CRYING AT? CRY CRY CRY!! ONLY KNOWS HOW TO CRY!!” My dad walked into the room and bangs the door.
I remember that day was my saddest day ever but when night time arrived, my mum called me out to the kitchen. “Gui, you are still crying?”
“I want the cake that mum bakes for me.” I started sobbing.
“Hush Hush. Look what I got for you.” My mum took a bowl of vermicelli with egg in front of me.
“Mum cooked this for you. Mummy hopes that Gui Gui will grow up healthily and become a good girl ok?” I nodded happily and started eating the vermicelli.
“Gui Gui will be a good girl.” My mum nodded at me and smiled.

Just then, Hebe knocked on the door. I opened the toilet’s door.
“Gui, are you all right?”
“Yea. I’m sorry about that.”
“Silly. What are you talking about? You do not need to apologies.”
“I just think of my mum.” Hebe hugged me and patted me on the back. “It’s fine. It’s fine.” Both of us then walked back to where the guys were. The 2 of them looked at me. I went to sit beside Aaron.

*Aaron’s POV*
Calvin and Hebe have left my house and I continue coaching Gui Gui. I wanted to go to the kitchen to get her a cup of water. When I came back, she had already fallen asleep, laying her head on the table. Sigh. She has been pushing herself too much. I slowly carry her up to her room. I covered the blanket nicely on her before going out of the room. What time is it now? 8PM. I still have time. I took my jacket and went out of the house.
~On the streets~
Where can I get the present for her? I walked pass this shop which sells a lot of teddy bears. I walked into the shop.
“Sir, may I help you?” I smiled at the salesgirl and asked for a big teddy bear. She showed me to the area of big teddy collection. I looked around. This is it!! A big tatty bear!! Soft Soft, Nice to hug it. I will get this one. I took the bear to the counter and pay for it. The moment I walked out of the shop, passer-by started looking at me. Maybe it’s kind of weird for a guy to carry a big bear walking around. I quickly walked back to my car and went straight home.
Where should I hide this big bear? I looked around my room. Nope. Nope. No where good to hide this bear. Maybe I should hide into other rooms. Gui would not go into other rooms. Yea! I carried the bear and put it into a room that was far away from Gui’s room. That’s should do it. Oh No! I forget to order a cake. I needed to go out of the house again.
I came back to the same streets and walked into cake shop this time. What cake does she likes?
“Can I order a chocolate ice-cream cake?” I told the man in the shop.
“Sure. When would you like to collect it?”
“2 days later. On the afternoon. 19 candles.”
“Ok.”
“Thank you.” Now it’s all done. I didn’t forget anything again right? Nope. I went back home again. Before I go to bed, I take a peek at Gui Gui first. I smiled and walked back to my room.

*Aaron’s POV*
I didn’t sleep well yesterday night. I kept on thinking about Gui Gui. I was still worrying about her. I quickly get up from the bed and went into the toilet to wash up. I change into my uniform and went out of the room. Eh? What smells so nice? I walked down the stairs and saw Hebe walking out of the kitchen.
“Hebe, are you cooking?” Hebe looked up at me and shook her head.
“Morning, Aaron. I’m not the one cooking. I’m going to call Calvin up.” And she started giggling and walked up the stairs. I walked towards the kitchen. To my surprise, Gui Gui was the one cooking. I stared at her in disbelieved.
“Gui?”
“Morning Aaron.” And she smiled at me.
“How did you..” She came forward and hugs me. “Thank you.” I touched her face.
“Ahem Ahem. Cough Cough.” Stupid Calvin. Calvin walked towards us. “Gui, how are you feeling?”
“Yea, I’m fine. I’m sorry to let you all worry about me.”
“Silly girl. Why do you need to say sorry about this?” Hebe went up and hugged Gui Gui. “I want you to be happy, Gui. Sorry for not being with you.” Gui shook her head and smiled.
Then, I smell something wrong. Eh!
“Is the egg burning?” I asked.
“AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Gui Gui screams and quickly wanted to scoop the egg up. “Ouch.” I quickly rushed up to her. “Are you ok? Huh? You should be more careful!!”
“I’m sorry.” I examine at her hand when I heard some giggling at the back.
“Bebe, I think we should leave them alone. We are very bright here you know? Let’s go out ok?”
“OK OK!!!” And they both giggles while walking out of the kitchen. It’s so awkward now.
“Aaron, I’m fine.” She smiled at me. I nodded and help her scoop up the egg. The egg looks blacker now. Haha. She continues cooking and I help her to bring the food outside.
“Let’s eat!!” Calvin happily started eating.
~In school~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Class Class, Listen up. Exams are around the corner, please start revising your work.” Mr Yap announced to the class.
Exams. Sigh. I need to start studying again. I need help!! Sigh. Who can I ask? I turned to look at Hebe. She is already frowning. Sigh.
~After school~
“Bebe, what happened?” Calvin went over to Hebe
“Gui?” You know what? Both of our heads are lying on the tables. Sigh. Exams.
“Sigh. Exams.” Both of us said together. Both of them look very puzzled.
“What’s wrong with exams?” Calvin asked.
“Nothing’s wrong. It’s just that we didn’t really understand the subjects. Then..” Sigh.
“Oh. That’s a small problem. We can coach the both of you.” Calvin said it out so easily. Both of us looked at him.
“Serious?” I turned to look at Aaron and he nodded at me.
“We can coach the both of you now. But before we do that, let’s go and eat first!!!” Calvin grabbed Hebe’s hand and off the classroom.
“Hey hey..” Aaron and I laughed at the both of them and ran up to the both of them.
~At Sweet cakes Café~
“Gui, what do you want to eat?” Aaron asked me.
“Huh? I..” Then I whisper to him. “I ran out of money.” He smiled at me.
“Just order. I will pay.”
“But..” He shook his head at me. “What you want?” Sigh. Aaron can be quite demanding sometimes but he did it just because he cares about it.
“Ok. I want chocolate cheesecake.” I smiled at him.
When the desserts arrived, we started eating.
“Oh ya! Remember to go to the airport today.” Calvin spoke out of the sudden.
“Why?” I asked him.
“My sister is leaving tonight.”
“So fast?”
“Yea.” So sad. We just went out for a few times only.
~At the airport~
Angela hugged both Hebe and me. “Take care ok?” Angela nodded.
“I’m glad that I met the both of you.”
“Me too.” I said.
“Me three!!” Hebe happily said. Angela walked up to Calvin and hugged him.
“Bye brother. Take good care of Hebe. If I find you bully my future sister-in-law, you will get it from me!”
“I got back-up now, see whether you dare to bully me huh!” Hebe boasts to Calvin.
Angela walked up to Aaron. “Please take good care of Gui Gui. She needed you. I’m glad that she has you with her.” Aaron nodded at her and Angela smiled back in return. She pulled me to Aaron’s side and took my hand to put on his. She smiled and turned around.
“Bye.” She waved and walked into the departure hall.
*Angela’s POV*
The moment I turned around, tears begin flowing down. I’m going to miss him but Gui Gui needs him more than I do. I wish them all the best.

~The Next Day~
*Aaron’s POV*
I didn’t sleep well yesterday night. I kept on thinking about Gui Gui. I was still worrying about her. I quickly get up from the bed and went into the toilet to wash up. I change into my uniform and went out of the room. Eh? What smells so nice? I walked down the stairs and saw Hebe walking out of the kitchen.
“Hebe, are you cooking?” Hebe looked up at me and shook her head.
“Morning, Aaron. I’m not the one cooking. I’m going to call Calvin up.” And she started giggling and walked up the stairs. I walked towards the kitchen. To my surprise, Gui Gui was the one cooking. I stared at her in disbelieved.
“Gui?”
“Morning Aaron.” And she smiled at me.
“How did you..” She came forward and hugs me. “Thank you.” I touched her face.
“Ahem Ahem. Cough Cough.” Stupid Calvin. Calvin walked towards us. “Gui, how are you feeling?”
“Yea, I’m fine. I’m sorry to let you all worry about me.”
“Silly girl. Why do you need to say sorry about this?” Hebe went up and hugged Gui Gui. “I want you to be happy, Gui. Sorry for not being with you.” Gui shook her head and smiled.
Then, I smell something wrong. Eh!
“Is the egg burning?” I asked.
“AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Gui Gui screams and quickly wanted to scoop the egg up. “Ouch.” I quickly rushed up to her. “Are you ok? Huh? You should be more careful!!”
“I’m sorry.” I examine at her hand when I heard some giggling at the back.
“Bebe, I think we should leave them alone. We are very bright here you know? Let’s go out ok?”
“OK OK!!!” And they both giggles while walking out of the kitchen. It’s so awkward now.
“Aaron, I’m fine.” She smiled at me. I nodded and help her scoop up the egg. The egg looks blacker now. Haha. She continues cooking and I help her to bring the food outside.
“Let’s eat!!” Calvin happily started eating.
~In school~
*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Class Class, Listen up. Exams are around the corner, please start revising your work.” Mr Yap announced to the class.
Exams. Sigh. I need to start studying again. I need help!! Sigh. Who can I ask? I turned to look at Hebe. She is already frowning. Sigh.
~After school~
“Bebe, what happened?” Calvin went over to Hebe
“Gui?” You know what? Both of our heads are lying on the tables. Sigh. Exams.
“Sigh. Exams.” Both of us said together. Both of them look very puzzled.
“What’s wrong with exams?” Calvin asked.
“Nothing’s wrong. It’s just that we didn’t really understand the subjects. Then..” Sigh.
“Oh. That’s a small problem. We can coach the both of you.” Calvin said it out so easily. Both of us looked at him.
“Serious?” I turned to look at Aaron and he nodded at me.
“We can coach the both of you now. But before we do that, let’s go and eat first!!!” Calvin grabbed Hebe’s hand and off the classroom.
“Hey hey..” Aaron and I laughed at the both of them and ran up to the both of them.
~At Sweet cakes Café~
“Gui, what do you want to eat?” Aaron asked me.
“Huh? I..” Then I whisper to him. “I ran out of money.” He smiled at me.
“Just order. I will pay.”
“But..” He shook his head at me. “What you want?” Sigh. Aaron can be quite demanding sometimes but he did it just because he cares about it.
“Ok. I want chocolate cheesecake.” I smiled at him.
When the desserts arrived, we started eating.
“Oh ya! Remember to go to the airport today.” Calvin spoke out of the sudden.
“Why?” I asked him.
“My sister is leaving tonight.”
“So fast?”
“Yea.” So sad. We just went out for a few times only.
~At the airport~
Angela hugged both Hebe and me. “Take care ok?” Angela nodded.
“I’m glad that I met the both of you.”
“Me too.” I said.
“Me three!!” Hebe happily said. Angela walked up to Calvin and hugged him.
“Bye brother. Take good care of Hebe. If I find you bully my future sister-in-law, you will get it from me!”
“I got back-up now, see whether you dare to bully me huh!” Hebe boasts to Calvin.
Angela walked up to Aaron. “Please take good care of Gui Gui. She needed you. I’m glad that she has you with her.” Aaron nodded at her and Angela smiled back in return. She pulled me to Aaron’s side and took my hand to put on his. She smiled and turned around.
“Bye.” She waved and walked into the departure hall.
*Angela’s POV*
The moment I turned around, tears begin flowing down. I’m going to miss him but Gui Gui needs him more than I do. I wish them all the best.
*Gui Gui’s POV*
I looked at Aaron. I asked myself this question a lot of times but.. Will he be my prince?

Chapter Thirty: Arriving Soon
*Aaron’s POV*
I went to the living room and sat on the sofa when something caught my eyes.
“Jasmine, what are these?” I asked one of the maids.
“These are sent by Mistress this morning after you went out of the house, Young Master.”
“Ok. You may continue doing your things.” I signal her to leave. There are documents and a letter stacked on the table. I took the letter and read it.
Aaron,
Mum here. Let me wish you a happy birthday first although it was over. You are 20 years old now. In 1 year time, your dad and I would want you to start working in the company. The documents are the financial statement of the company. Please look thru it.
And one more thing, I would be coming to Taiwan within this few days for meeting. I would want you to attend the meeting too. I’ll see you soon.

The moment I finish reading it, I crashed the letter and threw it into the bin. Work, company, documents, meetings!!! It has been so long since I last see my mum and all she thinks now is still work, company and meetings!! Has she ever thought about my feelings? How I feel? What I actually want? Did she or dad even realized? There is a gap between us and it’s getting bigger.
“Young Master, Calvin Master and Miss Hebe are here.” I signal the maid to leave.
“Aaron, where is Gui? Is she ok?” Hebe grabbed on to my arm.
“Don’t worry. She is sleeping upstairs now.”
“What actually happened?” Calvin asked.
“I went to look for Gui Gui after school on that day. She was being locked up in her room by her dad..” And I continue telling them the whole story and how her mum died.
Hebe started dropping a few drops of tears. “How pain she is now. She loves her mum that much. She..”
“Ok. Hush Hush. It’s fine now.” Calvin started comforting her.
“I asked the maids to prepare 2 rooms for the both of you. Stay here tonight. Hebe, I hope you can care for her more. I do not know how to comfort her. Maybe with you around, she would feel better. We will go back school tomorrow.”
“Ok.” Calvin then saw the things on the table. “What are these?” He started flipping the folders.
“Company’s financial statements.” I said coldly. Calvin looked at me.
“My mum is coming back to Taiwan. She wants me to go thru to the documents and attend the meeting with her.” Calvin knows how I feel. He knows why I became so cold when mentioning about my mum and dad. Because whenever my dad or mum is mention, it would never leave the topic relating to company, meetings or work. I just hope they would spend more time with me.
Hebe looks puzzled by it especially after I said that my mum is coming back to Taiwan and Calvin kept silent instead of replying.
“Hey, Gui Gui’s birthday is a few days later. Let’s plan something for her!!” Hebe suddenly brought up this idea.
“I agree. We should cheer up her.” Calvin agreed with Hebe.
“Ok. What do you suggest?” I asked. What should I buy for her? What does she likes?
“Let’s buy a big cake for her and decorate the house with balloons!!” Hebe suggested.
“Ok. Erm.. What does Gui Gui’s likes other then chocolate ice-cream?” I do not really know what she likes because both of us didn’t discuss about this before.
“Hmm.. Let me think. She.. She likes chocolate ice-cream and.. AH! She said before that she hopes to get one giant soft toy bear. I remembered giving her small ones but her dad forbidden her to play with it.” Ok. I should get it for her!!
“It’s getting late now. Let’s go and rest.” I stood up and walked to my room. The both of them followed behind me.

Chapter Twenty Nine: Depressed
~At the Playground~
*Aaron’s POV*
She’s not at the swing. Where is she?
“Gui!!” Maybe she’s not here? The moment I turned around, I saw this figure squatting under the slide. “Gui!” I rushed up to her immediately. She’s all drenched up. “Why do you come out by yourself without telling me?!” I was quite angry with her. Maybe is just that I’m too worry about her.
“I.. I just want to come and take a look. I didn’t know it will rain.” The raindrops seem to wash away all the tears that were flowing out. I helped her up and we walked back into my car.
“I send you home to take all of your clothes. You will stay with me.” She just nodded.
~At Gui Gui’s house~
She took out her keys and opened the door.
“WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!” Both of us looked up. Her dad stood there with a cane on his hand. Gui Gui didn’t reply him. She wanted to walk away but her dad held on to her.
“I’M TALKING TO YOU. WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE WALKING TO?” At that moment, he wanted to hit her with the cane. I quickly stand in front of Gui Gui and grabbed his arms tightly.
“YOU ARE THE ONE WHO CAUSED MUM’DEATH!! YOU ARE THE ONE!!” She shouted at her dad and ran into the room. This must be the first time she shouted at her dad.
She quickly packed all her things and took her hand phone from the table. “Aaron, Let’s go.”
She kept silent throughout the journey. The moment she stepped into my house, she headed for her room. I looked at her back figure before my phone rings and disrupted my thoughts.
“Hello?”
“AH! AARON!!” Calvin screams into the phone. “WHERE ARE YOU?!!”
“Calvin, stop shouting into my ears.” He finally calm down.
“Where is Gui Gui? Is she with you? Both of you are missing for the whole day. Hebe is very worry for Gui Gui. We can’t get thru Gui Gui’s phone too.”
“She’s in my house now. Her mum died yesterday. She..” I have not finished my sentence. “WHAT??!!!! We come over to your house now!” Before I could even continue saying anything, the line went dead. Sigh.
I walked up to Gui Gui’s room holding on to a cup of warm tea. I knocked on her door and pushed the door open. She was looking at the photo – the only photo of her mum that she has with her. I put the tea on the table and walked to her. I kneel down in front of her and looked at her. She looks so tired.
“Gui..”
“Aaron, do you know? When I was young, my mum always brings me to the playground.” That’s the reason why she always go there no matter what happens. “She would always push me lightly when I sit on the swing. I remembered that my dad doesn’t allow me to go out and play. My mum would always take the opportunity to bring me to the playground when my dad went out for work.”
~Flashback~
“Gui, is this fun? Want to go higher?” Her mum pushes her lightly for the swing to move.
“Yea! Higher higher!!” Gui Gui laughed happily and was enjoying the fun.
“Ok. Gui, we got to go back already. Your dad would be back anytime.” Her mum tried to pull her down the swing.
“But Gui Gui still want to play.” Gui Gui hold on to the swing. Her mum squat down in front of her and smiled.
“We got to go already. Mummy promise you every day I would bring you down ok?”
“OK!!! Mum, I want chocolate ice-cream!!” Gui Gui smiled widely at her mum.
“Let’s go!!” Both of them were very happy, very happy.
~End of Flashback~
I looked at her. I wiped off her tears.
“Mum..” She mumbled while looking at the photo.
“Gui, I took a cup of tea for you. Go take bath and drink the tea before going to bed. I do not want you to fall sick.” She nodded silently. I touch her face with care before leaving the room. I went back to my room and took a bath.
After bathing, I walked into Gui Gui’s room again. She is sleeping soundly on the bed. She must have cried again. I wiped off her tears and took the photo frame away from her which she has been hugging onto it. I looked at the photo.
“Don’t worry, Auntie. I will stay with her and protect her.” I mumbled to the photo. I cover the blanket for Gui Gui before leaving the room.
“Sleep well.”
~At the Playground~

*Gui Gui’s POV*
“Mum, leave with us.” I’m pleading my mum to leave with me. If my dad found out that I have escape, he would put all his anger on mum. I do not want my mum to get cane by my dad. “Mum..”
“Auntie, don’t worry. You all can stay at my place.” I looked at my mum. “Please?” She nodded her head. She nodded her head!! Haha!! “I help you pack your stuff.” I ran into her room and started packing her stuff. While I was packing, my mum was talking to Aaron.
“Thank you, Aaron.”
“For?”
“For staying by her side and protecting her.” He just smiled at my mum.
“I’m done. Let’s go!” I hook onto my mum’s arm and walked out of the house.
We walked down the slope to Aaron’s car.
“WHERE DO YOU THINK THE BOTH OF YOU ARE GOING?!” Dad?! AH!!
“Hurry Hurry!!” I wanted to run but my dad held onto me.
“COME BACK WITH ME!!”
“Let me go!!” I tried to swing off his hand but his grip is too tight.
“Uncle.” Aaron held on to my dad’s arm.
“IT’S YOU!! I was wondering why would why daughter run away suddenly. You are the one who teaches her all this!” My dad looked at me. “GO HOME WITH ME!!” And he started pulling me again.
“Hubby, Let Gui go.” My mum pleaded him.
“LET GO!! YOU SPOIL THE CHILD!!” My dad pushes mum away.
“Mum!!”
“Hubby..” My mum tries to loosen my dad’s grip.
“Uncle.”
“LET GO!!” My dad swings off Aaron’s hand and pushes my mum away.
“MUM!!! LOOK OUT!!!” Everyone widen their eyes. “MUM!!!” The car knocked into my mum which makes her fall and roll down the slope. “MUM!!” I pushed my dad away and ran to my mum. “Mum!!! MUM!!” I started crying. I cannot lose her. I cannot lose her!!! “Mum!!”
“Gui.. Don’t cry.” Her voice sounded so weak. She tried to lift up her hand and wipe of my tears but she does not have the energy.
“Auntie, I bring you to the hospital!!” Aaron wanted to carry her up into his car but my mum stopped him.
“It’s ok. I will be leaving soon.”
“Mum, NOOO!!”
“Gui, I’m sorry that mum is leaving you but remember, I will always be with you.”
“Mum!!” I kept on crying and crying.
“Aaron, I’m handing my daughter over to you now. Please take care of her.” She smiled.
“Mum?? Mum!! MUM!!!!!!!!!”
~At night – Aaron’s house~
“Gui, do you want to eat something? You haven’t been eating anything since afternoon.” I crouched on the sofa and keep silent. “Gui..” Drops of tears started rolling out of my eyes. I hugged Aaron tightly. He patted me on my back.
*Aaron’s POV*
She has been keeping very quiet after coming back from the hospital. We went to the hospital and the doctor announced that her mother was gone. I didn’t want her to leave my sight when she is like that so I brought her back to my house. She has been crouching on the sofa ever since she stepped into the house. She didn’t say anything. I’m so worry about her.
“Gui, do you want to eat something? You haven’t been eating anything since afternoon.” She didn’t reply me. “Gui..” She started crying again. I patted on her back with her hugging me tightly.
“Do you have chocolate ice-cream?” She finally said something. I nodded at her and went to take the ice-cream from the kitchen. The moment I passed it to her, she started scooping the ice-cream into her mouth. I somehow regretted saying I have chocolate ice-cream. “Gui, eat slowly.”
“Mum says so. Mum says so.” She started mumbling something while eating. “Mum says I would be happy if I eat. So I must eat.” I looked at her. I feel so heart pain seeing her like this. “Gui..” I held onto the hand where she is holding on to the spoon. She tried to loosen my grip. “I want to eat. I want to eat.” She started sobbing. “Aaron, I miss her. I miss her.” I hugged her.
“Gui, it’s ok. It’s ok.” After a few moment of silence, I realized she has fallen asleep. I slowly carry her and bring her up to the room.
Gui, have a good night sleep. Everything would be fine. I will stay with you. I will.
~The Next Morning~
Yawn. Today is not a good weather. It’s raining outside now. I started washing up and walked out of my room. I walked to Gui Gui’s room and knock on her room door but there isn’t any response. Is she still sleeping? I open the door silently. She is not in bed. Where is she? I quickly rushed down the stairs and started looking around for her but she is nowhere seen in the house. I looked outside, the rain is pouring heavily. Could she be outside? I quickly went up to my room and change. I took an umbrella and run out of the house. I drive around and keep on searching for her. Such a heavy rain where can she be? Will she be at the playground? I drove immediately to the playground.
“Gui! Gui!” I walked towards the playground and started calling out for her.

“Gui.. Don’t cry.” Her voice sounded so weak. She tried to lift up her hand and wipe of my tears but she does not have the energy.
“Auntie, I bring you to the hospital!!” Aaron wanted to carry her up into his car but my mum stopped him.
“It’s ok. I will be leaving soon.”
“Mum, NOOO!!”
“Gui, I’m sorry that mum is leaving you but remember, I will always be with you.”
“Mum!!” I kept on crying and crying.
“Aaron, I’m handing my daughter over to you now. Please take care of her.” She smiled.
“Mum?? Mum!! MUM!!!!!!!!!”
~At night – Aaron’s house~
“Gui, do you want to eat something? You haven’t been eating anything since afternoon.” I crouched on the sofa and keep silent. “Gui..” Drops of tears started rolling out of my eyes. I hugged Aaron tightly. He patted me on my back.
*Aaron’s POV*
She has been keeping very quiet after coming back from the hospital. We went to the hospital and the doctor announced that her mother was gone. I didn’t want her to leave my sight when she is like that so I brought her back to my house. She has been crouching on the sofa ever since she stepped into the house. She didn’t say anything. I’m so worry about her.
“Gui, do you want to eat something? You haven’t been eating anything since afternoon.” She didn’t reply me. “Gui..” She started crying again. I patted on her back with her hugging me tightly.
“Do you have chocolate ice-cream?” She finally said something. I nodded at her and went to take the ice-cream from the kitchen. The moment I passed it to her, she started scooping the ice-cream into her mouth. I somehow regretted saying I have chocolate ice-cream. “Gui, eat slowly.”
“Mum says so. Mum says so.” She started mumbling something while eating. “Mum says I would be happy if I eat. So I must eat.” I looked at her. I feel so heart pain seeing her like this. “Gui..” I held onto the hand where she is holding on to the spoon. She tried to loosen my grip. “I want to eat. I want to eat.” She started sobbing. “Aaron, I miss her. I miss her.” I hugged her.
“Gui, it’s ok. It’s ok.” After a few moment of silence, I realized she has fallen asleep. I slowly carry her and bring her up to the room.
Gui, have a good night sleep. Everything would be fine. I will stay with you. I will.
~The Next Morning~
Yawn. Today is not a good weather. It’s raining outside now. I started washing up and walked out of my room. I walked to Gui Gui’s room and knock on her room door but there isn’t any response. Is she still sleeping? I open the door silently. She is not in bed. Where is she? I quickly rushed down the stairs and started looking around for her but she is nowhere seen in the house. I looked outside, the rain is pouring heavily. Could she be outside? I quickly went up to my room and change. I took an umbrella and run out of the house. I drive around and keep on searching for her. Such a heavy rain where can she be? Will she be at the playground? I drove immediately to the playground.
“Gui! Gui!” I walked towards the playground and started calling out for her.
